Hyundai has unveiled the Ioniq 5 N, its first high-performance electric vehicle (EV). With up to 650 horsepower and a 0-100 kph time of 3.4 seconds, the Ioniq 5 N packs a powerful punch. Its two electric motors, spinning up to 21,000rpm, produce 609 horsepower combined, which can be increased to 650 horsepower with the N Grin Boost mode. The vehicle features an 84 kWh battery, but the range has not been announced yet. It can be rapidly charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes using a 350 kW DC fast charger.

The Ioniq 5 N is equipped with performance-oriented components such as lightweight brakes, reinforced chassis, and integrated drive axles inspired by World Rally Championship (WRC) cars. Hyundai has also added driving aids like N e-shift and N Active Sound +, which simulate the feel and sound of traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. The car offers features such as N Drift Optimiser, N Torque Distribution, and a vehicle-to-load function that powers external devices using the car’s battery.

In terms of design, the Ioniq 5 N receives performance-enhancing body elements, including a longer and wider profile, 21-inch alloy wheels, and aerodynamic enhancements for improved cooling. Inside, it boasts N-specific upgrades like a redesigned center console, sporty seats with reinforced bolsters, and an N-specific steering wheel with customizable buttons for drive modes. The Ioniq 5 N delivers a thrilling driving experience with its powerful performance and a range of enhancements that prioritize driving dynamics.
