BMW has unveiled the CE 02, an electric two-wheeler positioned between an electric scooter and an electric bike. It is powered by two split 2kWh lithium-ion battery packs, offering a claimed range of 90km. In some European countries, the CE 02 can be ridden as a moped without a license by removing one battery pack. This restricted version weighs 119kg, has a range of 45km, and a top speed of 45kph. The full version produces 15hp, has a range of 90km, and weighs 132kg. Charging options include a standard 0.9kW charger or an optional 1.5kW fast charger. Pricing starts at USD 7,599 (approximately Rs 6.2 lakh) for the base model.
The CE 02 features a double-loop steel tubular frame, USD fork/monoshock suspension, and a single-sided swingarm. It includes keyless go, LED headlight, reverse gear, and a 3.5-inch TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity. The optional Highline accessory pack adds a third riding mode, special color scheme, heated grips, and a phone mount. The CE 02 competes in a similar price range as the Kawasaki Z650RS.
