SWITCH Mobility, the electric mobility arm of the Hinduja Group, has successfully delivered 100 electric buses to the Government of Mauritius, marking a major milestone in India’s growing role in global sustainable transport solutions.
The final batch of 90 buses was formally handed over by India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to Mauritius Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, highlighting the strong bilateral collaboration between the two nations. The buses were procured via an open tender conducted by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) and will be operated by the National Transport Corporation (NTC), Mauritius’ state-run transport body.

This delivery stands as India’s largest export of electric buses to date and comes under a government-to-government initiative, with the fleet being donated by the Government of India to support Mauritius’ clean mobility transition.
At the heart of the deployment is the SWITCH EiV12 electric bus, engineered for efficient urban operations. Designed to accommodate up to 45 passengers, the bus combines high safety standards with enhanced comfort and durability. It features SWITCH iON telematics for real-time monitoring and fleet optimization, while its floor-mounted LFP battery setup ensures improved stability. A dual-gun rear charging interface further enables faster turnaround times, enhancing operational efficiency.

Ganesh Mani, CEO of SWITCH Mobility, emphasized the importance of this milestone, stating that the deployment reinforces the company’s commitment to delivering sustainable and future-ready transport solutions globally.
The initiative aligns with Mauritius’ broader environmental goals, focusing on reducing emissions and modernizing public transportation. For SWITCH Mobility, it also marks a significant step in expanding its international footprint in the electric vehicle space.
