Kia’s entry into India will be with its new SUV, based on the SP concept, unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018. This is likely to be christened ‘Kia Tusker’. The Kia Tusker was spied recently by one of our readers, during its tests.

The Tusker bears the underpinning of the Hyundai Creta. It will be based on a new generation chassis, on which the next-gen Creta will also be based. The engine options offered on the Tusker will include 1.4-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel. The SUV will come with an automatic transmission option as well. These engines will be BS-VI compliant ones.
The Tusker has been spotted in two trim levels, one with alloy wheels, and the other with steel wheels. It is likely to come in 4 trim levels. This will be a feature-rich SUV.
The Kia Tusker is likely to launch later this year and it will be manufactured at Kia’s plant in Andhra Pradesh. It will rival the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Mahindra XUV500 and the Tata Harrier.
