Mercedes-Benz India has expanded its AMG portfolio with the launch of the Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+, marking the arrival of the first performance-oriented plug-in hybrid sedan in the E-Class lineup. The new model blends AMG’s signature driving dynamics with everyday practicality and electric efficiency.

The AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ is available in Performance and Racing editions, priced at ₹1.45 crore and ₹1.48 crore (ex-showroom), respectively.

Powering the sedan is a combination of a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor, producing a combined output of 585 hp (430 kW) and 750 Nm of torque. Activating RACE START boosts the output to 612 hp (450 kW), enabling the luxury sports sedan to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, which can be increased to 280 km/h with the optional AMG Driver’s Package.

The plug-in hybrid system also offers a pure electric driving range of over 100 km (WLTP), allowing owners to complete daily commutes with zero tailpipe emissions while retaining the high-performance character expected from an AMG model.

Performance is further enhanced by AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive, active rear-axle steering, and a sophisticated chassis setup designed to deliver both agility and stability.

Commenting on the launch, Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said the AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ perfectly balances exhilarating performance with everyday usability. He added that the launch reinforces Mercedes-Benz India’s powertrain-agnostic strategy, giving customers the freedom to choose the propulsion technology best suited to their lifestyle.

Alongside the vehicle launch, Mercedes-Benz India also announced a multi-year title partnership with the Indian Padel Tour for the 2026-27 season. The Mercedes-Benz Indian Padel Tour will feature 19 tournaments across 11 cities, including five flagship Grand Slam events, further strengthening the brand’s association with premium sporting experiences in India.
