
“140 Years. 140 Places.” – the new S-Class in Brussels (Belgium) in front of the Parc du Cinquantenaire
Mercedes-Benz has announced the India leg of its global “140 Years. 140 Places.” world tour, celebrating 140 years since the invention of the automobile. The unique transcontinental expedition features three Mercedes-Benz S-Class luxury sedans travelling across the globe, showcasing the brand’s rich heritage, innovation and pioneering spirit.
Having already crossed six continents, more than 55 countries and covered over 60,000 kilometres, the three S-Class models—named Gotlieb, Carl, and Bertha—will now embark on their journey across India in July.

S-Class to Explore India’s Diverse Landscapes
The India chapter of the global drive will take the flagship luxury sedan through some of the country’s most iconic destinations, showcasing its cultural diversity, architectural heritage and scenic beauty.

The route will stretch from the high mountain passes of the Himalayas to the Gangetic plains, while also covering major metropolitan cities including Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. The journey will further explore destinations such as Jammu, Leh, Hampi and Coorg, reflecting India’s unique blend of history, culture and modern progress.
Through this drive, Mercedes-Benz aims to celebrate both the legacy of the automobile and the evolving spirit of exploration that has defined the brand for over a century.
