Maruti Vitara Brezza is the best-selling compact SUV in the market. The S-Cross too has seen decent success. Both of these are currently powered by a 1.3-liter Fiat-sourced diesel engine, which is soon going to be discontinued the implementation of BSVI norms.

Sales of the Brezza as well as S-Cross have declined over a period of time. The 1.3-liter diesel engine is unlikely to continue with new BSVI norms. To overcome this, one of Maruti’s official has confirmed the new 1.5-litre K Series petrol mild-hybrid motor for both these cars by late 2019 or early 2020. The new engine produces 106bhp and 138Nm of power and torque. It is mated to 5-speed manual transmission and 4-speed automatic unit. It is already on offer with Ciaz, Ertiga, and XL6.
