Mahindra has introduced the ‘Global Pik Up’ concept, a new pickup truck model, during an event held in South Africa.
The concept is built upon the Scorpio-N platform and showcases a dual-cab design featuring a rear loading bay. Its frontal appearance draws inspiration from the Scorpio-N, exhibiting a robust aesthetic with a prominent black grille, LED headlights, and an integrated LED daytime running light-adorned bumper.
The rear of the pickup displays rectangular wraparound tail lamps and a rugged bumper complete with tow hooks on both ends. Notably, the vehicle comes equipped with various additions like a snorkel, side steps, roof rack, and a tire carrier. Under the hood, the Global Pik Up concept employs Mahindra’s Gen-2 mHawk diesel engine. Buyers can select between a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, combined with a 4-wheel drive system.
Mahindra has disclosed that the eventual production model will offer features such as 5G connectivity, semi-automatic parking, level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a sunroof, and four distinct drive modes—Normal, Grass-Gravel-Snow, Mud-Rut, and Sand. This truck has been designed with markets such as India, South and Central America, Australia, Africa, and the ASEAN region in mind. Production is scheduled to commence in 2025.
