Kia has recently introduced the facelifted version of its Seltos model in India, with prices ranging from Rs 10.90 lakh to Rs 19.80 lakh for the top-spec automatic variants. Additionally, there’s a special Seltos X-Line variant priced at Rs 20.00 lakh. Bookings for the new Seltos have already begun, and interested buyers can secure their booking with a token amount of Rs 25,000 and use a K-code to get priority delivery. Kia received an impressive 13,424 bookings on the first day itself.
The updated Seltos is available with two petrol engine options and one diesel engine. The 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 115hp and 144Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine delivers 116hp and 250Nm of torque. There’s also a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is the most powerful in its class, generating 160hp and 253Nm of torque. The Seltos facelift offers a variety of gearbox options to choose from.
The design of the facelifted Seltos has been refreshed with changes to the front and rear styling. Notable updates include a larger grille, redesigned headlights with new LED daytime running lamps, and a new bumper at the front. The rear features new inverted L-shaped tail-lights connected by an LED light bar and a sportier-looking bumper.
The interior of the new Seltos has also received significant updates, with the highlight being the dual 10.25-inch connected screens for infotainment and instrumentation. The cabin now boasts more soft-touch materials and can be customized with different color combinations depending on the trim level.
In terms of features, the Seltos facelift comes with a comprehensive list of equipment. Notably, it offers the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite, including features like forward collision warning assist, autonomous emergency braking, and lane keep assist. Other standard safety features include six airbags, ESC, hill-start assist, all-wheel disc brakes, TPMS, and three-point seat belts with reminders for all passengers. Moreover, the Seltos comes with a panoramic sunroof and various tech and comfort features such as a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch head-up display, electronic parking brake, rain-sensing wipers, and a Bose-tuned 8-speaker system with sound mood lamps.
The Seltos facelift continues to compete with other popular SUVs in the Indian market, including the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq. It will also face competition from upcoming models like the Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross in the near future.
