Hyundai has announced the updated i20, which won’t go on sale in India for some time but will soon be offered for purchase in Europe. There are some aesthetic adjustments, particularly to the front and back bumpers, there are not many alterations to the interior or appearance. A new alloy wheel design and a wider range of exterior paint colours are also included in the updated i20. The logo has a new 2D design and is now located at the base of the bonnet. The vehicle will be produced in Turkey for the European market and come with a 48V mild hybrid system, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, and either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed DCT automatic gearbox. A better 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and the inclusion of ADAS as standard equipment with lane keeping assistance and front collision warning are significant upgrades.

The updated i20 will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz, and Toyota Glanza when it is introduced in India. The updated i20 for India will likely have comparable design changes along with country-specific upgrades to the drivetrains, tyre sizes, and equipment.

Despite not making many internal or exterior changes to the i20 facelift, Hyundai has managed to keep the design modern. The additional embellishments, like the more pronounced faux rear diffuser and wider, more prominent chin with a contrast black finish on the lower portion, enhance the car’s appearance. The upgraded digital instrument cluster and the included ADAS are both welcome safety features that give the car a more contemporary look.

To sum up, the revised i20 is an upgraded model of the well-known third-generation automobile that went on sale in several countries in mid-2020 and has since received a mid-life update. The updated i20 still attracts purchasers despite having only a few significant changes and modest cosmetic adjustments. The car’s powertrain and gearbox options are unchanged from the present model, but the addition of ADAS as standard equipment and the upgraded digital instrument cluster are important updates. Overall, it is anticipated that the redesigned i20 will maintain its competitive edge in the crowded premium hatchback market.
