Zelio E-Mobility has unveiled its latest electric three-wheeler, the Tanga Nine+, at the RideAsia EV Expo 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam. The model is slated for a commercial launch in Q2 of the current financial year.

Positioned as a significant upgrade over the outgoing Tanga Nine, the new Tanga Nine+ has been developed to meet evolving last-mile mobility demands across urban and semi-urban markets. A key highlight is the introduction of an ‘Autosafe’ front design, replacing the conventional open or mirror-front layout typically seen in this segment, with a focus on enhancing passenger safety and driver confidence.

The Tanga Nine+ also sees a major jump in practicality, with seating capacity increased to up to eight passengers, compared to five in the previous model. This enhancement is expected to improve earning potential for operators, particularly in shared mobility applications such as intra-city transport and high-frequency routes.

On the performance front, the electric three-wheeler delivers a claimed top speed of 45–50 km/h and a range of up to 150 km on a single charge. It is powered by a 2.5 kW motor using BLDC/PMSM technology and offers multiple battery options, including 7.8 kWh and 10 kWh configurations, allowing flexibility based on usage needs.

Built for everyday usability, the vehicle features 670 mm of legroom, a gross vehicle weight of 900 kg, and rides on 3.75×12 / 4.00×12 wheels. Braking duties are handled by a combi braking system with drum brakes at both ends, while 25A and 45A charging options add to operational convenience.

According to Kunal Arya, the Tanga Nine+ has been designed to balance safety, capacity, and economic viability in India’s rapidly evolving last-mile mobility space, while also enhancing operator profitability and passenger comfort.

The 7th edition of the RideAsia EV Expo witnessed participation from over 300 brands, highlighting innovations across the electric mobility ecosystem. Zelio’s latest offering drew strong interest at the event, reflecting growing demand in the segment.

Since its inception in 2021, Zelio E-Mobility has steadily expanded its footprint in India, backed by an annual production capacity of 72,000 units, a customer base exceeding 2 lakh users, and a dealership network of over 350 outlets across 20 states and union territories.
