Kia Seltos, launched in Aug 2019, has become one of the best-selling SUVs in the Indian market, in a short span of time. With top variants being loaded with features to the brim, lower models were only equipped with essential features. To make the lower models appealing, Kia has given feature update now.

Starting price of Kia Seltos remains unchanged at Rs. 9.89 lakhs going up to Rs. 17.34 lakh ex- showroom, Delhi.

Kia has now discontinued GTK variant due to lack of demand and now CVT is available only on HTX trim. Features update include “Hello Kia” hand’s free voice prompt for voice commands for all variants, which was earlier only available to the top variant with a steering mounted button. Electric sunroof is now offered with HTX, HTX+, GTX and GTX+. All the variants get front and rear USB Charging which was earlier only for top variants. Automatic variants also get Remote Engine Start using key fob.

It also gets various cosmetic changes which add to premium and sporty appeal. These include, Dual muffler exhaust design, Leatherette gear knob, Metal scuff plate, Dual-tone options, All-black interior for GT Line with red stitching, Gloss black dashboard, Metal garnish on climate control panel and grab handle.

One of the key changes are electric sunroof and LED cabin lamps which were earlier available only with pricier variants.

Powertrain and engine options remain same as before. It gets 1.4-litre turbocharged and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engines. It also gets a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine. All the engines channel power through 6 Speed Manual transmission. While, 1.4-litre Petrol gets 7 Speed DCT as an option, 1.5-litre get CVT as an option, and 1.5-litre Diesel gets 6 Speed Automatic as an option.

Seltos will continue to compete against its South Korean cousin Creta, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster and also the MG Hector to some extent.
