Datsun is the best performing brand of Nissan India in the market, even though it has only three offerings for the market. The bestseller being Datsun Redi-Go has received a facelift along with BS-VI engine upgrade. Datsun has launched the Redi-Go facelift with starting price of Rs.2.83 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the 800cc model.

The new facelift does not get any changes in terms of body structure and continues to get a tall-boy design but gets many cosmetic changes. At the front, it now gets a larger grille and a refreshed bumper with L-Shaped DRLs and fog lamps. On the side, not many changes can be seen except for the new wheel cover design. At the rear, new LED tail lamps can be seen. Rear bumper also gets tweaks giving it a fresher looks.

Moving towards the cabin, one can find a newly designed dashboard with silver and black elements giving it a premium touch. The main highlight in the cabin is the newly added 8 inch touchscreen system. It now supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It also gets a reverse parking camera with static guidelines which is rare in its segment. It now gets a redesigned steering wheel and instrument cluster for the driver. Datsun is now also offering Dual Front Airbags in the top trim and a Driver airbag as standard. Adding to safety are the new pretensioner and load limiter seatbelts.

Driving the facelift Redi-Go remains the same 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre engines which are now updated to meet BS-VI norms. The 0.8-litre engine produces 54PS of Power and is mated to a 5-Speed Manual Transmission, while the 1.0-litre produces 68PS of power and gets a 5-Speed Manual and a 5-Speed AMT. 1.0-litre Manual claims to return up to 21.7 km/l and AMT returns around 22 km/l.

Datsun Redi-Go has now become an attractive package competing directly with the Maruti Alto and Renault Kwid. With 800cc base variant starting for Rs. 2.83 lakhs, top AMT variant with 1.0-litre engine is priced at Rs. 4.77 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
