One of the notable changes in the updated Tiguan is the introduction of a new dual-tone interior in grey and white, replacing the previous all-black cabin. This change adds a fresh and stylish look to the SUV’s interior. Volkswagen has also incorporated a wireless smartphone charging feature, allowing users to conveniently charge their devices on the go.

In terms of safety, Volkswagen has added a seat belt reminder for all seats in the Tiguan, emphasizing the importance of wearing seat belts. The SUV is equipped with six airbags, hill start assist, hill descent control, and three-point seat belts with adjustable head restraints for all seats.

The Tiguan now also includes Volkswagen’s Park Assist system, which enables the SUV to park itself in parallel parking spaces. While the system provides automatic steering, the driver retains control over acceleration and braking.

Regarding its powertrain, the Tiguan is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI engine that has been updated to comply with the new BS6 Phase 2 emission norms. This engine delivers 190 hp and 320 Nm of torque, and it is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The update to the engine has also improved its fuel efficiency, now offering an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 13.54 kilometers per liter (kpl)

In the Indian market, the Tiguan competes with other SUVs like the Hyundai Tucson, Citroen C5 Aircross, and the Jeep Compass.

Overall, the updates made to the Volkswagen Tiguan enhance its interior aesthetics, convenience features, safety offerings, and fuel efficiency, making it a competitive option in the premium SUV segment in India.
