Volkswagen is introducing a special edition of its flagship hot hatchback, the Golf R, called the Golf R 333 Limited Edition. Only 333 units will be produced, and they will be exclusively available in Germany. This limited-run model boasts 333 horsepower, derived from the same 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine as the regular Golf R. It comes with unique exterior and interior features that distinguish it from the standard model.

The Golf R 333 Limited Edition showcases a distinctive Lime Yellow metallic paint finish, a black roof, and 333 decals on the doors. It also sports 19-inch Black alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, it features leather sports seats and a Harmon Kardon sound system. Each vehicle will be individually numbered and have a special plaque on the dashboard indicating its designation.

In terms of performance, the Golf R 333 Limited Edition retains the 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine but delivers a power increase from 323hp to 333hp. This enhanced performance enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100kph in a claimed 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 270kph. Additionally, the limited edition comes equipped with an Akrapovic performance exhaust system featuring titanium rear silencers and is fitted with semi-slick tires on its alloy wheels.

The Golf R 333 Limited Edition pays tribute to the 2017 Mk7.5 Golf R, which offered a performance package for the seventh-generation Golf R. This package included drilled disc brakes and adjustable shock absorbers. Alongside the Golf R 20 Years, the R 333 Limited Edition represents the most powerful iteration of the Golf to date. Unfortunately, it appears that the Golf R 333 will not be available outside of Germany. Production is set to commence in September, with deliveries scheduled to begin in October.
