Volkswagen has expanded its Virtus 1.5 TSI lineup by introducing the GT DSG variant, which now serves as the most affordable option in the range, priced at Rs 16.20 lakh (ex-showroom). As part of the Performance Line models, the GT DSG trim offers a more accessible price point while compromising on certain features compared to the higher-spec GT Plus variant. Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with active cylinder-deactivation technology, delivering 150hp and 250Nm of torque. The GT DSG variant is equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DSG). Volkswagen aims to attract more customers interested in the higher-spec engine with the introduction of the more affordable GT variant, ultimately boosting sales in the process.

Virtus GT DSG

With its competitive pricing and compelling performance, the Virtus GT DSG is expected to resonate with buyers seeking a balance between affordability and driving pleasure. While it may offer a reduced feature set compared to the GT Plus trim, the Virtus GT DSG retains its sporty and dynamic characteristics, providing an enticing option within the Virtus 1.5 TSI lineup. By broadening the range and catering to varying customer preferences, Volkswagen continues to strengthen its position in the market and cater to the evolving demands of Indian car buyers.
