Tata Harrier is currently the Indian Manufacturer’s flagship product in the market. Harrier is based on Land Rover’s D8 Architecture. It follows the IMPACT 2.0 Design language with split DRLs and Headlamps. Sales figures clearly conclude that it has received a lot of love in the market.
Tata Motors is now working on the complains by the customers to keep them happy. Various problems addressed by the owners included High NVH levels, heavy steering wheel, unresponsive light clutch and some random glitches in the infotainment system.
Tata has now found a solution for these problems and has promised customers to get it fixed at the service centre.
The new updates include new R10.X software update which overcomes the minor glitches in the infotainment, reported by the media on pre-production vehicles. ECU has also been re-tuned for optimum smoothness and power at the same time, also improving the NVH level for silent drives. The clutch has been tuned to overcome the issues of lack of feel on the pedal. The heavy steering has also been fixed by some tuning. Though, these problems have been corrected on the new models, existing customers will be contacted by the dealers based on Engine/ Chassis number, to get these updates.
The Harrier currently gets only one powertrain option. It is powered by a 2.0l Fiat-sourced diesel engine which also powers the Jeep Compass and MG Hector. This engine has been detuned for Harrier, producing 140BHP of Power and 320NM of Torque mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, returning around 17.1km/l. An automatic gearbox is expected to be launched during the festive season. This is likely to be a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed Automatic Transmission.
The prices for Harrier start from Rs.13.01 lakhs and goes upto 16.85 lakhs for the top trim. Prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi.
