Tata has now revealed it’s new SUV for the year 2020. This Harrier based 7- seater which is to be launched in early 2020, will be called Gravitas.

Looks:

The design will be based on the IMPACT 2.0 design language which is found in new generation Tata cars. It looks quite similar, infact identical to Harrier from the front. On the side, you can notice that it rides on larger 19-inch diamond-cut alloys compared to 17-inch ones on the Harrier. The side profile is quite similar too but towards the rear, a stepped roof can be seen compared to a sloping roof on the Harrier. This helps in creating additional space for the 3rd row. At the rear too, it’s got a taller tail that adds to a boxy look. Taillights are carried forward from Harrier, there is no change here. Another key change is the addition of roof rails.

Though it gets boxy elements, it certainly differentiates itself from other conventional SUVs in the segment. It gets the best road presence in its segment.

Space:

The key USP of Gravitas over Harrier is the additional 3rd row of seats. With all three rows up, there isn’t much space left for the luggage in the boot however as you tumble down the 3rd row of seats, you get a humongous amount of boot space. The space in the third row however isn’t much, though it is good enough for short rides. The space in the second row is extremely good like the Harrier. Under thigh support is more than adequate, the headroom is in abundance, and the legroom is also very good. The second row seems to be a good place to be in for long drives.

Also, one-touch tumble for middle row seats adds to the convenience of getting into the 3rd row.
