Renault Launches New Kwid in India from ₹4.52 Lakh

Renault India has introduced the updated Renault Kwid, bringing refreshed styling, a simplified variant lineup, and revised pricing to make first-time car ownership more accessible. The entry-level hatchback now starts at ₹4.52 lakh (ex-showroom) and adopts Renault’s latest global brand identity.

The biggest change for the 2026 Kwid is the streamlined lineup, which is now offered in just two variants – Evolution and Climber. Renault says the simplified range is aimed at making the buying process easier and more transparent for first-time customers.

The fully loaded Climber variant is priced from ₹5.14 lakh (manual), while online purchase benefits effectively reduce its price to ₹4.99 lakh, enhancing its value proposition in the entry-level hatchback segment.

Commenting on the launch, Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Renault India, said the Kwid has introduced more than 4.5 lakh customers to the Renault brand since its debut in 2015. He added that the updated model builds on that legacy by offering a simpler product range, refreshed styling, and improved value for aspiring first-time car buyers.

Mechanically, the Kwid continues with its 1.0-litre petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual or Easy-R AMT transmission. The AMT variants retain the convenient rotary gear selector, while the hatchback continues to offer a balance of fuel efficiency and everyday drivability.

Feature highlights include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a fully digital instrument cluster, rear-view camera, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, remote keyless entry, power windows, Bluetooth connectivity, and steering-mounted convenience features.

The Kwid also retains its SUV-inspired styling with 184mm ground clearance, rugged body cladding, and 279 litres of boot space, making it one of the most practical offerings in its segment.

The updated Renault Kwid is now available across Renault dealerships nationwide and can also be booked through Renault India’s online sales platform, offering customers a more seamless digital buying experience.
