Renault India has announced that the all-new Renault Duster has secured a 5-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP), marking a key milestone for the SUV’s return to the Indian market.
The Duster delivered strong scores across both categories, achieving 30.49 out of 32 for adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 for child occupant protection. The rating applies across all variants, highlighting Renault’s focus on uniform safety standards rather than variant-based differentiation.
Built on the new RGMP platform, the SUV has been engineered with enhanced structural integrity to ensure consistent protection across crash scenarios. The 5-star rating reinforces Renault’s emphasis on integrating safety early in the development process under its global ‘Human First’ program.
The new Duster comes equipped with 35 safety features as standard, including Electronic Stability Program (ESP), six airbags, hill hold and descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and three-point seat belts for all occupants.
Additionally, the SUV offers 17 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, and blind spot detection, enhancing both active safety and driver awareness.
With its latest BNCAP result, the Renault Duster combines proven driving dynamics with top-tier safety credentials, strengthening its positioning in India’s competitive SUV segment.
