Maruti is all set to make this festive season exciting with its all-new small car, SPresso, this year. It will be getting a sporty, bolder and an SUV look. It will be based on the Future S concept showcased in Auto Expo 2018, and is expected to get typical SUV character with the height of the vehicle being on the taller side and also higher ground clearance.
Spyshots reveal that it could sport angular halogen headlamps and various typical Maruti elements already seen on Brezza. It also reveals that SPresso could get 13-inch steel rims on lower variants and 14-inch Alloys on top trim.
It will be meeting all the Bharat NCAP norms or BNVSAP (Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program) making it safer. It is also likely to get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system sporting various connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, speed alert system, and seat belt reminders are expected to be standard. Higher trims would also get rear parking sensors/cameras.
The same K10B motor is expected to power the micro SUV, which will be updated to meet the BSVI norms. Power and torque output by the 1.0-liter 3-cylinder engine is 82 PS and 114NM respectively mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. An AMT gearbox is also expected.
The Maruti Spresso could be priced between ₹4-6 lakhs competing it primarily with Renault Kwid and also with the Mahindra KUV to some extent.
