Land Rover Classic has showcased one of its most striking custom commissions to date, revealing a family of four matching remastered Classic Defender V8s created through its exclusive Works Bespoke programme.
The unique collection comprises a Defender 90 Station Wagon, Defender 90 Soft Top, Defender 110 Station Wagon, and the newly introduced Defender 110 Double Cab Pick-Up, all finished in an eye-catching colour-shifting Spectral Green paint scheme that transitions between green, purple, and gold depending on lighting conditions and viewing angles.
A Showcase of Bespoke Craftsmanship
The remarkable Spectral Green finish extends beyond the bodywork to the 18-inch diamond-turned Sawtooth alloy wheels, exterior badging, and interior fascia panels. Each vehicle spent nearly 400 hours in Land Rover Classic’s specialist paint facility, undergoing extensive preparation, colour matching, and finishing processes.
The collection further stands out with contrasting Icy White roofs, expedition cages, Defender bonnet scripts, and hand-painted coachlines that enhance the visual appeal of the iconic off-roader.
Inside, the luxury theme continues with Bridge of Weir semi-aniline Vanilla leather upholstery, complemented by green contrast stitching that mirrors the exterior finish. Premium Superwool carpets, leather-bound floor mats, and embossed Defender branding add to the handcrafted feel.
Demonstrating the Potential of Works Bespoke
According to Land Rover Classic, the four-vehicle commission highlights the near-limitless customization possibilities available through its Works Bespoke division. Customers can specify virtually any colour inspiration, whether drawn from personal items, landscapes, artwork, or vehicles already in their collection.
Dominic Elms, Director of Land Rover Classic, described the project as a perfect example of how the company collaborates with clients to create highly personalised vehicles while maintaining the authenticity of a factory-restored Defender.
Powered by a 405 PS V8
Every Classic Defender V8 begins life as an original Defender built between 2012 and 2016 before being comprehensively remastered by Land Rover Classic. Each vehicle receives a 405 PS V8 engine along with upgraded performance components, suspension, braking systems, and modern enhancements designed to preserve the Defender’s character while elevating its driving experience.
New Body Styles and Technology Added
Land Rover Classic has also announced several new options for future Defender V8 commissions.
For the first time, the iconic 110 Double Cab Pick-Up is available as part of the Classic Defender V8 programme, offering a combination of five-seat practicality and traditional Defender styling. The compact two-seat 90 Hard Top body style has also joined the lineup alongside the existing 90 Station Wagon, 90 Soft Top, and 110 Station Wagon variants.
Technology has also received a significant upgrade with the introduction of a newly developed 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, featuring:
- Wireless Apple CarPlay
- Android Auto
- DAB/DAB+ Digital Radio
- Bluetooth connectivity
- 13-band graphic equaliser
- Optional reversing camera with integrated lens washer
Expanded Personalisation Options
Further enhancing the customisation programme, Land Rover Classic has expanded its range of roof colours and 16-inch heavy-duty Wolf wheel finishes to include Fuji White and Corris Grey. A new Trophy Pack has also been introduced, adding Narvik Black Gloss finishes for the bonnet, roof, rear door assembly, and wheel arches to create a more rugged, expedition-inspired appearance.
With this latest commission, Land Rover Classic continues to demonstrate how the legendary Defender can be transformed into a highly personalised luxury collectible while remaining true to the spirit of one of the automotive world’s most iconic off-road vehicles.
