Automobili Lamborghini is celebrating the 55th anniversary of the legendary Miura SV, a milestone that honours one of the most influential supercars ever built and the model that introduced Lamborghini’s iconic ‘Super Veloce’ (SV) philosophy.

First unveiled in 1971, the Miura SV represented the ultimate evolution of the groundbreaking Miura lineup. Building on the success of the original P400 and the Miura S, the SV introduced significant engineering upgrades, including separate lubrication circuits for the engine and transmission, a wider rear track for improved stability, and a revised 3.9-litre naturally aspirated V12 producing 385 hp.

The performance figures were extraordinary for its era, with the Miura SV sprinting from 0-100 km/h in under 5.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of over 290 km/h, firmly establishing its place among the world’s fastest and most desirable supercars.

More than five decades later, the Miura SV remains a defining chapter in Lamborghini’s history. It laid the foundation for the brand’s high-performance SV lineage, a badge that continues to represent the most extreme and driver-focused versions of Lamborghini’s V12 super sports cars.

As Lamborghini marks 55 years of the Miura SV in 2026, the celebration serves as a tribute to a model that not only redefined automotive performance but also established a legacy of uncompromising engineering and exhilarating driving dynamics that continues to shape the brand today.
