Fisker Inc is introducing a limited edition of its Ocean electric SUV, called the Ocean Extreme Vigyan Edition, exclusively for the Indian market. The top-spec Extreme version will be limited to just 100 units and is expected to be homologated for India by September, with deliveries starting in the fourth quarter of 2023. The Ocean Extreme features a 113kWh battery pack, dual electric motors producing 572hp, and a WLTP range of up to 707km on a single charge, making it the SUV with the highest claimed range in Europe. Sustainability is a key focus, with vegan interiors, recycled materials, and a solar panel on the roof. Though the final pricing in India may exceed Rs 1 crore due to import taxes, Fisker is looking at future possibilities, considering setting up a battery and vehicle assembly plant in India.
Fisker aims to capitalize on India’s potential and rapid growth in the electric vehicle market, with plans to expand its brand significantly in the country. The Ocean Extreme Vigyan Edition marks the company’s commitment to the Indian market, featuring advanced features and eco-friendly elements. While aligning prices with European counterparts, Fisker’s long-term vision includes exploring local production to make its electric SUV more accessible and competitive in India’s luxury electric vehicle segment.
