BMW Group India has launched the all-new BMW M440i xDrive Convertible in India, priced at ₹1.09 crore (ex-showroom). The model is being offered as a Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU) and combines open-top driving with M performance credentials.
Design and Exterior
The M440i Convertible features a sporty yet elegant design, highlighted by adaptive LED headlights, a vertically positioned kidney grille in high-gloss black, and M Lights Shadowline elements. The rear design is accentuated by CSL-inspired taillights and an M rear diffuser, while 19-inch M light-alloy wheels enhance its road presence.
A key highlight is the fabric soft-top roof, which can be opened or closed in just 18 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h, blending the classic convertible experience with modern convenience.
Performance and Powertrain
Powering the convertible is BMW’s 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder B58 engine producing 374 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Paired with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission and BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive system, the car accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h.
The inclusion of a 48V mild-hybrid system enhances both performance and efficiency, while features like Adaptive M suspension, Variable Sport Steering, and M Sport differential ensure dynamic handling.
Interior and Features
Inside, the cabin offers a premium and driver-focused layout with the BMW Curved Display, combining a 14.9-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The car also features:
- Harman Kardon 12-speaker sound system
- Sensatec sports seats with memory and lumbar support
- M leather steering wheel with paddle shifters
- Ambient lighting with premium trim finishes
Technology and Safety
The M440i Convertible comes equipped with BMW iDrive 8.5, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, and ConnectedDrive features such as Digital Key Plus and remote services via the MyBMW app.
Safety is enhanced with multiple driver assistance systems, including Parking Assistant with 360-degree view, Reversing Assistant, and a comprehensive suite of airbags and stability control systems.
