Audi has offered a glimpse of its upcoming all-electric model, the Q6 e-tron, which is nearly production-ready. Positioned below the Q8 e-tron in Audi’s lineup, the Q6 e-tron will be unveiled in the coming months and will be available in both SUV and Sportback body styles. Built on Volkswagen Group’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture co-developed with Porsche, the Q6 e-tron will offer multiple powertrain options, including a standard version and a sporty SQ6 e-tron variant.
The Q6 e-tron boasts an 800-volt system that enables fast charging speeds of up to 270kW, allowing the battery to reach 10-80 percent charge in under 30 minutes. Equipped with a 100kWh battery pack, the standard model can produce approximately 375hp with a power boost option taking it to 396hp. Audi claims a range of around 600km on the WLTP cycle for the standard version. The more powerful SQ6 e-tron will deliver 483hp and 510hp with boost, achieving a rapid 0-100kph acceleration time of under five seconds.
In terms of safety, both Q6 e-tron versions come with advanced features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking. Audi’s latest lighting technology is also showcased in the Q6 e-tron, featuring digital daytime running lights with 61 individual segments and second-generation OLED tail-lights with 60 segments per OLED tile. These offer up to eight different lighting signatures, and Audi has integrated dynamic active light functions to display warnings on the lower part of the tail-light without affecting overall brightness, aimed at improving road safety. Additionally, the car-to-X functionality with the ‘communication light’ warns other drivers of obstructions detected by the car or Audi’s cloud-based road monitoring system.
