Ultraviolette Introduces Battery Flex for X-47, Redefines EV Ownership with BaaS Model
Following the strong market response to the X-47, Ultraviolette Automotive has unveiled a transformative ownership model called Battery Flex, marking its formal entry into the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) space.
Designed to significantly lower the upfront cost of owning its flagship electric motorcycle, the initiative allows customers to purchase the Ultraviolette X-47 for ₹1,49,000 and subscribe to the battery separately, with a starting monthly fee of ₹2,499.
Partnership with Ecofy to Drive EV Accessibility
To power this initiative, Ultraviolette has partnered with Ecofy, a green-focused non-banking financial company (NBFC) dedicated to accelerating climate-positive adoption through specialised financing solutions.
The collaboration aims to democratise access to advanced electric mobility by making high-performance EV technology more financially viable for Indian consumers. By decoupling the battery cost from the motorcycle’s ex-showroom price, Ultraviolette claims the new structure reduces the initial ownership cost by nearly 40%.
A New Ownership Formula: Lower Entry, Flexible Payments
Under the Battery Flex programme, customers pay for the motorcycle chassis upfront while financing the battery through a fixed monthly subscription. At the end of the subscription tenure, full battery ownership is transferred to the customer at no additional charge.
Enrolments for Battery Flex commence from March 5, 2026, opening the model to riders nationwide.
Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-founder of Ultraviolette, stated:
“At ₹2.5 lakh, Ultraviolette was already at price parity with similarly powered ICE motorcycles. Now, with a starting price of ₹1.5 lakh, riders gain access to better technology, features, and performance that outpaces every segment. With operating costs as low as ₹2,499 per month — lower than average petrol spends — we are redefining affordability in motorcycling.”

Performance Mobility Meets Financial Innovation
Battery technology remains central to the EV ownership experience, and Ultraviolette has invested heavily in R&D to ensure high standards of safety, longevity and performance.
Niraj Rajmohan, CTO and Co-founder, added:
“Battery technology sits at the core of every electric vehicle. With Battery Flex, we are extending our innovation to customers in a way that is flexible and accessible. It reflects our commitment to building technology that adapts to customer needs while making performance mobility more practical.”
With Battery Flex, Ultraviolette is positioning the X-47 as not just a performance-focused electric motorcycle but also a financially accessible alternative to traditional internal-combustion bikes. The move strengthens India’s evolving EV ecosystem while setting a new benchmark for subscription-based ownership in the premium electric two-wheeler space.
