In a landmark move to accelerate India’s EV transition, Tata Power, the country’s largest EV charging solutions provider, and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited (TPEM), India’s leading 4-wheeler EV manufacturer, have jointly inaugurated the nation’s largest TATA.ev MegaCharger Hub in Mumbai.

The premium fast-charging facility, strategically located near Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport within The Leela Mumbai Hotel premises, marks the first co-branded charging hub by Tata Power and TPEM.

Designed to cater to private EV owners, taxis, fleet operators, and tourists, the hub features eight high-speed DC chargers (up to 120 kW) with 16 charging bays, allowing simultaneous charging for 16 EVs. Open 24×7 and powered entirely by renewable energy, the MegaCharger hub represents a major step in building a sustainable, future-ready charging ecosystem.

Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power, said:

“This hub sets a new benchmark for fast-charging infrastructure in India. Strategically located and powered by green energy, it is part of our larger mission to deliver clean energy solutions and drive widespread EV adoption across the country.”

Mr. Shailesh Chandra, MD, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. & TPEM, added:

“Tata Motors has been leading India’s EV revolution by not only providing world-class EVs but also nurturing a strong charging ecosystem. This MegaCharger hub is the first of many such joint efforts with Tata Power and a significant milestone in our journey to empower EV owners with reliable, fast, and accessible charging.”

This launch adds to 1,000+ Tata Power green charging points already operational across Mumbai, forming part of a broader network of over 5,500 public and captive chargers, 1.4 lakh home chargers, and 1,200+ bus charging points across 630+ cities. Tata Power aims to scale this network to 7.5 lakh home chargers and 10,000 public chargers by 2030.

The TATA.ev MegaCharger network, a flagship initiative of TPEM, is open to all EV users while offering exclusive benefits for Tata EV owners – including discounts of up to 25% and priority access. Charging can be managed via the Tata Power EZ Charge app (with 4 lakh registered users) and will soon be integrated into the iRA.ev connected car app for Tata EVs.

With this initiative, Tata Power and TPEM are reinforcing their leadership in India’s EV ecosystem while bringing the vision of sustainable mobility closer to reality.
