TATA SIERRA 2025

Tata Motors has officially teased the long-awaited new Tata Sierra, confirming its market debut on November 25, 2025. Reviving the iconic nameplate, the Sierra will take its place between the Tata Curvv and Harrier in the brand’s SUV lineup. The SUV will be offered with both ICE and electric powertrains, with the internal combustion version launching first.

Under the hood, Tata Motors is developing multiple iterations of its 1.5-litre engine family, including a naturally aspirated petrol, a turbocharged TGDi petrol, and a diesel option. The new turbo-petrol unit, expected to produce around 168 PS and 280 Nm, will be mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The electric Sierra, meanwhile, will likely share its platform with the Harrier EV, featuring two battery pack options, with the larger variant offering over 500 km of range. The model will also come equipped with fast-charging and bidirectional charging capabilities.

Design-wise, the new Sierra retains its signature wraparound rear glass panel, reinterpreted within a more aerodynamic and modern silhouette. Bold split LED headlamps, squared wheel arches, and a full-width LED light bar give it a powerful road presence.

Inside, the Sierra is expected to feature a futuristic triple-screen layout — dedicated displays for the driver, infotainment, and passenger. Premium touches such as a dual-tone cabin, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, Harman audio system, panoramic sunroof, and wireless charging are also on the cards.

Safety and technology highlights include Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, an electronic parking brake, ESC, and multiple drive and terrain modes.

When launched, the ICE-powered Sierra will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, and Honda Elevate, while the electric Sierra will take on rivals like the Hyundai Creta EV, Mahindra XEV 9e, Maruti Suzuki eVitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV.
