Ventilated Seats Top Car Buyers’ Wishlist, Beating Sunroofs, Infotainment & ADAS: Park+ Survey

Park+ Research Labs, India’s only digital-first, data-driven survey platform, has released key insights from a recent nationwide study involving 6,000 car owners. The survey highlights a clear shift in consumer priorities, with 78% of respondents ranking ventilated seats as their most desired feature, outpacing traditional favourites like sunroofs and infotainment systems.
Ventilated Seats Take the Lead
As rising temperatures and frequent heatwaves challenge driver comfort, ventilated seats have become a top priority. Offered in both fully and semi-ventilated formats by brands like Tata, Hyundai, Kia, VW, and MG, these seats help cool the cabin more efficiently, addressing a critical need for Indian consumers.
Sunroofs Lose Appeal
Once a sought-after feature, only 11% now consider sunroofs a must-have. Growing concerns about practicality, heat exposure, and recent leakage issues — even in premium vehicles — have made buyers reconsider their importance.
ADAS & Safety Features Viewed as Standard
Just 8% selected ADAS and advanced safety tech as must-haves. This likely reflects growing consumer confidence in OEMs’ safety standards, with buyers now viewing safety as a baseline expectation rather than a differentiating feature.
Infotainment Systems Not a Priority
Despite the trend of large, multi-screen infotainment setups, only 3% marked them as essential. While visually impressive, buyers don’t see them as a necessity in their decision-making process.
Shifting Buyer Mindset
The survey indicates that Indian car buyers are increasingly prioritizing practical, climate-adaptive features over cosmetic ones. Extreme weather conditions are pushing consumers to choose features that offer real-world comfort and usability.
