Tata Motors has unveiled the facelifted versions of its Harrier and Safari SUVs, following a series of teasers. These updated models feature significant changes to both their exteriors and interiors, along with new added features. However, their mechanical components remain unchanged.
Bookings for both the Harrier and Safari facelifts have officially started with a booking amount of Rs 25,000, and pricing details are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
In terms of design changes, the Harrier facelift showcases a revamped front bumper with a distinctive upper and lower section, a broader grille with a full-width LED light bar, and a redesigned central air intake. The headlamp clusters have been repositioned towards the edges. The interior receives updates as well, with a new standalone touchscreen in two size options, revised materials on the dashboard, and various tech enhancements.
On the equipment front, there are numerous upgrades, including larger alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic AC, a premium JBL sound system, paddle shifters (for automatic variants), ventilated and powered front seats, gesture-controlled tailgate, and more. Safety features have been enhanced with up to 7 airbags, and six of them are standard across the range.
The Safari facelift distinguishes itself from the Harrier with a broader grille, unique inserts in the central air intake, and different headlamp positioning. Profile and rear changes are minimal. Inside, the Safari largely mirrors the Harrier but with some variations in dashboard finishes and additional features like second-row seat ventilation.
Both models offer various trim options with unique color choices and exterior and interior accents. They are powered by the same 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox, driving the front wheels.
The Tata Harrier and Safari facelifts will compete with rivals such as the MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700, Jeep Compass, Scorpio N, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus. Pricing details will be announced soon.
