MG Motors has finally taken cover off from the Hector Plus, the larger 6-seater sibling of the regular Hector. MG has started the bookings of the Hector Plus online with a booking amount of Rs.50,000. Hector Plus will initially get a 2+2+2 seating layout with middle row captain seats for utmost comfort. A 7-seater variant is expected to launch later.

Design

In terms of looks, it looks very similar to the 5-seater Hector. On the front, headlamps and the grille have been tweaked for a fresher look. On the side however, no changes can be seen. It continues to get the same 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. At the rear, it gets new tail lamps, bumper and reflector design. It also gets refreshed skid plates in front as well as the rear.

Features

Like the smaller sibling, Hector Plus is also loaded with features to the brim. It gets 6-way power adjustable driver seats, foot activated auto tailgate, automatic headlamps, Automatic Climate Control system, rain sensing wipers, ambient lighting, cruise control, cooled glove box and a dual pane panoramic sunroof.

It gets a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It gets 4 speakers and 4 tweeters along with a subwoofer and amplifier. It also comes with Gaana Premium subscription for unlimited audio streaming.

It also gets many connected car features like Remote AC On (for automatic variants only), Remote Car light flashing and honking, Geo Fencing, in built Navigation with live traffic updates and also chit-chat voice interaction.

 

Safety

Safety features include 6 airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), TCS (Traction Control system), Hill Hold Control, 360⁰ Parking Camera, heated ORVMs, front and rear parking sensors, high speed warning, ISOFIX child seat mounts, speed sensing door locks, pretensioner and load limiter seatbelts.

Powertrain

Powertrain options remain same like the 5-seater. The diesel motor happens to be the 2.0-litre Fiat sourced motor mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Petrol engines offered include 1.5-litre Turbocharged motor mated to a 6-speed DCT, and a 1.5-litre Turbocharged motor with mild hybrid mated to a 6 -speed manual transmission.

Hector Plus is offered in three variants, namely, Super, Smart and Sharp. Top trim, Sharp is available with all three powertrains. Mid variant, Smart, will be available with Diesel and Petrol Auto. Base variant, Super, will be available with diesel engine only.

Hector Plus will compete directly with the Mahindra XUV500, Toyota Innova, Tata Hexa and the upcoming Tata Gravitas.
