Vespa Unveils Tech 80th Edition to Celebrate Iconic 80-Year Legacy

Marking a historic milestone, Vespa has introduced the special Tech 80th Edition, a commemorative model celebrating eight decades since the original patent was filed on April 23, 1946. The iconic scooter, which has evolved into over 160 models globally, continues to embody Italian design, freedom, and innovation.

The Vespa Tech 80th pays homage to its origins with a distinctive Verde Pastello colour scheme, inspired by early post-war models from the 1940s. This pastel green shade, sourced from Vespa’s historical archives, reflects the brand’s heritage while symbolising a new beginning in Europe’s post-war era.

Design-wise, the special edition carries a minimalist yet bold aesthetic. The body-coloured treatment extends across elements such as the front shield profile, mirrors, grab handle, and suspension linkage, complemented by satin-finish accents. Darker green tone-on-tone highlights on the saddle, grips, and footboard inserts further enhance its retro-modern appeal.

Adding to the nostalgia, the wheels draw inspiration from the Vespa 98, featuring matching Verde Pastello rims with a diamond-finish channel. The front apron carries the classic Vespa logo alongside a special ‘80th’ badge, while the rear gets a commemorative ‘80 Years of Vespa Est. 1946’ emblem.

The Vespa Tech 80th is positioned as a collector’s edition, blending timeless styling cues with modern technology from the current Vespa lineup.

Celebrations for Vespa’s 80th anniversary will culminate in a grand global event in Rome from June 25 to 28, 2026, expected to be one of the largest gatherings for Vespa enthusiasts worldwide.
