Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL), the wholly owned subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, has completed 20 years of operations in India, celebrating two decades of steady growth, product innovation, and customer trust.

The company entered the Indian market in 2006 with motorcycles like the Suzuki Heat 125 and Suzuki Zeus 125, followed by the launch of the highly successful Suzuki Access 125 in 2007, which went on to become a key pillar in the 125cc scooter segment.

Over the years, SMIPL has expanded its portfolio across segments. Its lineup now includes scooters such as the Suzuki Burgman Street and Suzuki Avenis, alongside performance motorcycles like the Suzuki Gixxer Series and adventure tourers such as the Suzuki V-Strom SX. The premium portfolio is further strengthened by global icons including the Suzuki Hayabusa and middleweight offerings like the Suzuki GSX-8R and Suzuki V-Strom 800DE.

The brand’s growth is reflected in key milestones, achieving one million customers in 2012, crossing 5 million units in 2020, and reaching a landmark 10 million two-wheelers produced in India in 2026. Today, SMIPL operates across the country with over 1,200 customer touchpoints and a strong supplier network.

Speaking on the occasion, Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director of SMIPL, highlighted the role of customer trust, dealer partnerships, and continuous product innovation in driving the company’s journey. He also emphasized Suzuki’s ‘One-by-One’ philosophy, focused on quality and customer experience.

Looking ahead, Suzuki Motorcycle India is aligning its strategy with a multi-pathway approach toward carbon neutrality. This includes its foray into electric mobility with the Suzuki e-Access and flex-fuel technology through the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 FFV.

Backed by its Gurugram manufacturing facility, SMIPL has also established India as a key global production hub, exporting Made-in-India two-wheelers to 77 countries. As it enters its next phase, Suzuki Motorcycle India aims to strengthen its presence with future-ready mobility solutions while continuing its ‘By Your Side’ commitment to customers.
