TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Gets New Variants With Projector LED Headlamp And Slipper Clutch
TVS Motor Company has updated the Apache RTR 160 4V lineup for 2026 with the introduction of new variants and the addition of premium features across the range. The update focuses on improving safety, visibility and rider engagement while retaining the motorcycle’s strong performance credentials that have made it a popular choice in the 160cc segment.
The biggest change is the trickle-down of features from the top variant to the lower trims, making the Apache RTR 160 4V a more value-rich offering in the performance commuter category.
Key Feature Additions

The updated Apache RTR 160 4V now gets a Class-D LED projector headlamp with LED DRLs as standard across variants, improving night riding visibility. TVS has also introduced a full LED lighting package, including LED indicators, giving the motorcycle a more premium appeal.
Another important addition is the assist and slipper clutch, which improves rideability by enabling smoother downshifts and reducing clutch effort during city riding as well as spirited riding scenarios.
These additions bring the mid variants closer to the feature list previously reserved for the top-spec model.

Variant Lineup Explained
TVS continues to offer the Apache RTR 160 4V in three primary variants:
The entry variant comes with single-channel ABS, telescopic forks and a digital LCD console, making it the most accessible option in the range.
Moving up, the mid variant adds dual-channel ABS and upside-down (USD) front suspension, along with adjustable levers, targeting riders looking for better handling dynamics.
The top variant remains the most feature-packed, offering traction control, a 5-inch TFT display with TVS SmartXonnect connectivity and USD forks, positioning it among the most technologically advanced motorcycles in the segment.

Performance Remains Unchanged
Mechanically, the Apache RTR 160 4V remains unchanged. The motorcycle continues to produce 17.55PS, keeping it among the most powerful offerings in its category.
The bike also continues to offer three ride modes – Sport, Urban and Rain – a segment-first feature that allows riders to adapt performance characteristics based on riding conditions.
Other notable features include:
- TVS SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity
- Turn-by-turn navigation
- Call and SMS alerts
- Radial rear tyre for improved grip
- Hydroformed handlebars for better handling precision
