In a bold customer-first move, Triumph Motorcycles has announced that its 400cc line-up will continue at existing ex-showroom prices, despite the recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) revision from 28% to 40% on motorcycles above 350cc.
This means the Triumph Speed 400, Speed T4, Scrambler 400X, and the newly launched Thruxton 400 will remain unaffected by the tax hike. The decision, made jointly with Bajaj Auto, highlights the brands’ commitment to keeping premium mid-capacity motorcycles accessible to Indian riders.
The Triumph 400cc platform has already established itself as a strong contender in India’s fast-growing segment, offering a balance of classic design, refined performance, and everyday usability. Since launch, these models have built a loyal following among enthusiasts and first-time premium motorcycle buyers alike.
Commenting on the development, Manik Nangia, President Probiking, Bajaj Auto Ltd, said:
“The Triumph 400 cc platform has set new benchmarks in performance, design, and value. Even with the GST increase, we wanted to ensure that riding enthusiasts are not discouraged by higher costs. By holding prices steady, Triumph and Bajaj Auto are reaffirming our commitment to our customers and the growth of the brand in India.”
With long service intervals, low maintenance costs, and manufacturing rooted in Bajaj Auto’s world-class Chakan facility, Triumph continues to offer exceptional value in its class. This price protection move further reinforces its customer-centric approach while underlining Bajaj Auto’s vision of expanding the reach of global motorcycle brands in India.
