Honda has introduced the NX500 in India with an introductory price of Rs 5.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The motorcycle is available in three colors – white, black, and red, with deliveries set to commence in February 2024.

The Honda NX500 is powered by a liquid-cooled, 471cc parallel-twin engine delivering 47.5hp and 43Nm of torque. Paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip and assist clutch, the motorcycle boasts a diamond frame suspended by a Showa USD fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock. Weighing 196 kg with a fully brimmed 17.5-liter tank, it is 3kg lighter than its predecessor, the CB500X. Nissin handles the braking system, incorporating axial calipers on twin 296mm front discs and a single 240mm rear disc, along with standard dual-channel ABS. The cast alloy wheels have a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear.

The Honda NX500 introduces a 5-inch TFT dash, allowing smartphone pairing for navigation data and notifications. It is offered in three colors, and features a switchable traction control system.

Priced at Rs 5.90 lakh, the NX500 positions itself closer to the Kawasaki Versys 650 (Rs 7.77 lakh) rather than its direct competitors like the Royal Enfield Himalayan (Rs 2.85 lakh-2.98 lakh, ex-showroom, Chennai) and the KTM 390 Adventure (Rs 2.81 lakh-3.61 lakh). Bookings are open at all Honda BigWing dealers, with deliveries scheduled to start in February 2024.
