KTM has launched the third-generation 390 Duke in India with a price tag of Rs 3,10,520 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is approximately Rs 13,000 more expensive than its predecessor still listed at Rs 2,97,475 on the KTM India website.

KTM 390 Duke

The new 390 Duke comes with a brand-new 399cc engine producing 45hp and 39Nm of torque, offering 1.5hp and 2Nm more than the previous model. It features a completely redesigned trellis frame with an aluminum sub-frame, updated suspension with an inverted fork and an offset monoshock connected to a revamped swingarm. Notably, the India-spec version now offers full suspension adjustability, including compression and rebound damping for the front fork and rebound and preload adjustability for the monoshock.

In terms of design, the 390 Duke showcases updates to its appearance, such as new tank extensions and changes to the headlight region. It also introduces three riding modes: Rain, Street, and Track, each offering progressively sharper power delivery. Track mode adds launch control, and the bike now includes standard traction control. Additionally, it retains cornering ABS and a bi-directional quickshifter. Considering the extensive improvements, the Rs 13,000 price increase for the updated 390 Duke seems reasonable, making its price of Rs 3.11 lakh a fair deal. However, it is notably more expensive than the recently launched TVS Apache RTR 310, which is priced between Rs 2.43 lakh and Rs 2.64 lakh. The TVS bike may not match the KTM’s performance, but it offers some unique features.

KTM has also launched the updated 250 Duke, featuring similar upgrades to its frame, suspension, wheels, and brakes, along with updated styling resembling the 390 Duke. However, it retains its 249cc engine and is priced at Rs 2,39,000, just Rs 779 more than its previous version.

Both these new KTM bikes are available for booking on the KTM India website for a deposit of Rs 4,500, and they are expected to be available in showrooms by mid-September.
