Marc Márquez has officially sealed the 2025 MotoGP Riders’ Championship at the Japanese Grand Prix, delivering Ducati its fourth consecutive Riders’ Title and extending the Borgo Panigale manufacturer’s dominance in the premier class. With five race weekends still to go, Márquez’s triumph underscores an extraordinary debut season in Ducati red.
For Ducati, this milestone further strengthens its legacy—winning the Riders’ Championship for four straight years with three different riders: Francesco Bagnaia (2022, 2023), Jorge Martín (2024), and now Márquez (2025). The achievement highlights the unmatched adaptability and technical superiority of the Desmosedici GP, which continues to set benchmarks in MotoGP.
Márquez’s season has been nothing short of remarkable:
-
14 Sprint victories and 11 GP wins
-
10 Sprint-GP double wins, including a record 7 consecutive doubles
-
541 championship points, a commanding 201-point lead over the nearest rival
While Márquez clinched the title, the Motegi weekend also belonged to Francesco Bagnaia, who won both the Sprint and the Grand Prix race, adding another layer of glory to Ducati’s celebration.
Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, praised the collective effort:
“We are World Champions for the fourth year in a row, proving that when talent, skill, and teamwork align, the extraordinary becomes possible. Marc immediately found harmony with the Desmosedici GP and exceeded expectations. His talent, combined with the dedication of our team, created a perfect synergy. Pecco’s double victory in Japan only amplifies this historic moment. This success belongs to every man and woman of Ducati Corse.”
Ducati has also already secured the Constructors’ Championship—its sixth in a row—cementing an era of unparalleled success in MotoGP. Behind these results lies staggering effort: thousands of design and simulation hours, over 80 engine changes, hundreds of race briefings, and terabytes of track data analyzed.
From Bologna to Motegi, Ducati’s red army has once again demonstrated that relentless innovation and teamwork are the keys to staying ahead—making the Desmosedici GP the undisputed machine to beat in world motorcycle racing.
