In a remarkable feat of endurance and determination, Team Adventure X Arunachal Pradesh etched its name in motorsport history by clinching the runner-up position at the Rally of Himalayas 2025, held from October 9–12 across some of the most challenging mountain terrains in Himachal Pradesh.
This marked the first-ever team representation from Arunachal Pradesh at the iconic high-altitude rally, with the trio of Lhakpa Tsering, Naku Hage Chada, and Jaongam Mirip Singpho braving extreme weather, treacherous mountain passes, and unpredictable terrain to finish on the podium.
Supported by JK Tyre, India’s foremost motorsport promoter, along with Vamcy Merla and Tanor Engineering, the team demonstrated exceptional teamwork and resilience under punishing conditions.
Rally veteran Lhakpa Tsering from Dirang drove a Toyota Hilux, finishing runner-up in the Above 1850cc category, while Naku Hage Chada from Ziro won the Up to 1350cc class in a Maruti Gypsy. Jaongam Mirip Singpho from Bordumsa played a crucial support role throughout the event, ensuring the team’s overall success.
The Rally of Himalayas, renowned for its unforgiving terrain, tested competitors with snow-laden routes, sub-zero temperatures, and high-altitude passes like Hamta and Rohtang, forcing multiple stage revisions. Despite the odds, Team Adventure X showcased unwavering focus and grit, symbolising the spirit of true rallying.
The Toyota Hilux, equipped with JK Tyre Ranger HT (265/60R18) SUV tyres, proved its mettle across rocky trails and icy climbs, offering unmatched traction and durability. The combination of machine reliability, tyre performance, and driver expertise enabled the team to thrive in some of the harshest conditions imaginable.
