Zelio E-Mobility to Double Workforce, Expand Employee Strength Beyond 500

Zelio E-Mobility has announced an ambitious workforce expansion plan as the electric two and three-wheeler manufacturer prepares for its next phase of growth. Riding on strong business momentum and expanding manufacturing capabilities, the company aims to increase its employee strength from around 260 to more than 500 during the current financial year.

The recruitment drive comes as Zelio ramps up operations across its manufacturing facilities in Hisar (Haryana), Bhubaneswar (Odisha), and Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), with the latter expected to play a key role in the company’s future production capacity.

Major Hiring Across Three Manufacturing Facilities

Under the expansion strategy, Zelio will recruit:

The recently established Coimbatore plant will account for a significant portion of the hiring as it moves towards commissioning and large-scale production.

Focus on Manufacturing, R&D and Sales

The company is looking to strengthen both operational and strategic functions across its manufacturing network. Hiring will span several critical roles, including:

The expansion also supports Zelio’s rapidly growing dealership footprint and customer base across India.

Commenting on the announcement, Divyanshu Agarwal, CEO of Zelio E-Mobility, said the company’s growth strategy remains centred around people and local employment generation.

“Since the beginning, Zelio has always been a people-first company. We work with and in favor of our people. Wherever we enter, whether a state or a city, our focus is to create meaningful job opportunities and contribute to local employment. As we scale, this commitment remains at the core of everything we do. Our expansion is not only focused on manufacturing growth but also on building strong local ecosystems in each region we operate in, ensuring long-term value creation through employment and skill development.”

Strong Financial Performance Drives Expansion

The hiring announcement follows a strong FY2025-26 for the company.

Zelio reported revenue of ₹313.68 crore, representing an 81.8% year-on-year growth over ₹172.19 crore recorded in FY2024-25. The company also highlighted that it has remained profitable since its inception while delivering an impressive 121% revenue CAGR over the past four years.

Growth After Successful BSE SME Listing

The expansion also comes months after Zelio’s successful listing on the BSE SME platform in October 2025.

The company raised ₹78.34 crore through its Initial Public Offering (IPO), comprising a fresh issue worth ₹58.84 crore and an Offer for Sale (OFS) of 11.4 lakh shares valued at ₹15.50 crore. The IPO received an overall subscription of 1.5 times.

Dealer Network Set for Further Expansion

With manufacturing capacity increasing and its workforce set to double, Zelio is also accelerating its expansion of its retail footprint.

The company currently operates through a network of more than 400 dealerships across 25+ states and plans to expand this to over 550 dealerships by FY2026-27, with a particular focus on strengthening its presence in South India and the North-Eastern states.

Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Haryana, Zelio E-Mobility has rapidly established itself in India’s electric two-wheeler segment through its portfolio of electric scooters, backed by a strong emphasis on research and development, customer service, and the expansion of manufacturing capabilities. The latest hiring initiative underscores the company’s confidence in sustained demand as India’s electric mobility market continues to grow.
