
VinFast has achieved a major safety milestone in India, with its VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs earning the highest 5-star rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP). The results underline VinFast’s strong engineering focus and commitment to customer safety.
Both models scored 5 stars in Adult and Child Occupant Protection. The VF 6 recorded 27.13/32 in Adult Occupant Protection and 44.41/49 in Child Occupant Protection, while the VF 7 scored 28.54/32 and 45.25/49, respectively. In frontal and side impact tests, both SUVs achieved maximum scores, highlighting robust occupant protection. Pole side impact results also remained well within safety thresholds, indicating effective head protection in severe crash scenarios.
Commenting on the achievement, Tapan Ghosh, CEO, VinFast India, said the ratings validate the company’s focus on building safe, high-quality electric vehicles for the Indian market and reaffirm VinFast’s commitment to delivering confidence and peace of mind to customers.
Assembled at VinFast’s Tamil Nadu facility, the VF 6 and VF 7 are built on a dedicated EV platform and come equipped with seven airbags and advanced ADAS features on select variants. The two models play a key role in VinFast’s growing EV ecosystem in India, which includes local manufacturing, charging infrastructure, and aftersales support.
