TDK Ventures Invests in Ultraviolette to Boost India’s Electric Two-Wheeler Innovation
Japanese deep-tech investor TDK Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of TDK Corporation, has made a strategic investment in Indian electric mobility startup Ultraviolette as part of a $21 million funding round. The round also saw continued backing from existing investors, including Zoho Corporation and Lingotto (formerly Exor Capital), alongside participation from other institutional and individual investors.

The funding will accelerate Ultraviolette’s push to scale operations from 20 cities to over 100 across India, expand global distribution, and advance R&D in next-generation battery platforms and intelligent vehicle systems. TDK Ventures’ entry strengthens an already formidable investor line-up, which includes Qualcomm Ventures, Speciale Invest, TVS Motor Company, and prominent entrepreneurs such as Sriharsha Majety (Swiggy), Ankit Nagori (Cure Foods), Aprameya Radhakrishna (TaxiForSure), and actor Dulquer Salmaan.
Founded with a vision to create high-performance electric two-wheelers combining futuristic design with precision engineering, Ultraviolette has made global headlines with its flagship F77 — the first Indian e-motorcycle to receive European certification and be sold in 10 European countries.
Narayan Subramaniam, CEO & Co-founder of Ultraviolette, said:
“Mobility is undergoing a radical transformation. Our partnership with TDK Ventures accelerates our mission — from advanced battery platforms to intelligent vehicle systems — helping us deliver aspirational, globally relevant EVs.”
Niraj Rajmohan, CTO & Co-founder, added:
“Together with TDK Ventures, we will continue to push deep-tech innovation for safer, smarter, and more efficient electric mobility.”
Ravi Jain, Investment Director at TDK Ventures, noted:
“We’re excited to support Ultraviolette’s plan to design next-generation, energy-efficient, high-performance electric two-wheelers and grow their global footprint.”
TDK Ventures’ investment comes less than two years after establishing its Bengaluru Innovation Hub, which aims to empower Indian deep-tech entrepreneurs with global market access.
With this backing, Ultraviolette is set to accelerate its role in India’s electric two-wheeler revolution, blending local innovation with international scalability.
