Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, has joined forces with VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) to accelerate the adoption of electric commercial vehicles in India, starting with the recently launched Eicher Pro X small commercial vehicle range.
The collaboration aims to address key challenges in electric commercial mobility, including range anxiety, charging infrastructure, and operational efficiency. Under the MoU, Tata Power will leverage its extensive EZ Charge network—which includes 1.5 lakh+ home chargers, 5,500+ public and fleet charging points, and 1,200+ E-bus chargers across 630+ cities—to provide customized charging solutions. VECV will contribute its expertise in energy-efficient electric trucks and buses, ensuring vehicles meet the specific needs of operators.
Together, the partners will actively engage with Eicher Trucks and Buses customers to promote the transition to electric mobility and enable a cleaner, more sustainable transport ecosystem. The collaboration also extends to deploying other models from Eicher’s growing electric vehicle portfolio.
“This partnership represents a transformative step in modernizing India’s commercial mobility landscape. By combining innovative technologies, extensive charging infrastructure, and a strong focus on sustainability, Tata Power and VECV aim to pave the way for a greener and more efficient future,” said a spokesperson from Tata Power EV Charging Solutions.
Tata Power’s EZ Charge network already serves over 4 lakh registered customers, with chargers strategically placed at highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, offices, depots, and residential complexes, enabling the rapid growth of electric mobility across India.
This strategic collaboration marks a significant push toward electrifying India’s commercial transport sector, making EV adoption more accessible and efficient for truck and bus operators nationwide.
