Marking a major step in India’s clean mobility push, Range-X, the battery manufacturing arm of Kinetic India, has rolled out its first Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery from its advanced Ahilya Nagar facility.

The newly developed Range-X LFP battery, certified to AIS 156 norms, will debut on the recently launched Kinetic DX EV and will later power a wider portfolio of electric two- and three-wheeled vehicles. Combining safety, performance, and eco-conscious technology, these batteries are designed to set new standards for India’s EV ecosystem.

Engineered with stable LFP chemistry, the Range-X batteries promise enhanced safety, superior thermal stability, and a long cycle life of 2,000–3,000 charge cycles. Integrated with a smart Battery Management System (BMS), they ensure efficient performance, reliability, and extended service life.

Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman, Kinetic India, commented, “These first batteries rolling off our production line signify more than a manufacturing milestone—they represent the backbone of the Kinetic DX EV and the next wave of sustainable mobility in India. With AIS 156 certification, Range-X delivers durability, safety, and sustainability in every unit we produce.”

The Ahilya Nagar facility itself represents a benchmark in precision manufacturing, featuring a fully automated, IoT-enabled, POKE-YOKE-equipped production line with stage-wise quality checks. This ensures each unit meets stringent safety and performance standards.

With this milestone, Range-X positions itself as a key player in powering the fast-growing electric mobility segment, starting with the DX EV and extending to future two- and three-wheeler platforms.
