Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 4MATIC SUV Sets GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ Title for Greatest Temperature Change by an EV

From Desert Heat to Snow-Capped Peaks, the ‘Made-in-India’ EQS SUV Proves Its All-Terrain Electric Resilience
Mercedes-Benz India has earned yet another feather in its cap as the EQS 450 4MATIC SUV, locally assembled in India, has set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the greatest temperature change endured by an electric production car. The record-setting journey spanned over 2,300 km, navigating from the scorching 47.5°C heat of Ranao, Rajasthan, to the freezing -3.75°C chill of Khardungla Pass, marking a staggering 51.2°C temperature variation.

The historic drive was executed by the Autocar India road test team, led by Rahul Kakkar, across a 9-day journey through cities like Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Srinagar, Kargil, and Leh — before conquering the 18,379-ft Khardungla Pass, the world’s second-highest motorable road.
