Kinetic Engineering Ltd. Grants Brand License to Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd. to Drive EV Business Forward
Kinetic Engineering Ltd. (KEL), a pioneering name in India’s automotive industry, has officially granted brand licensing rights to its subsidiary, Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd. (KWV), enabling the iconic Kinetic brand to make its mark in the electric vehicle (EV) space.

Established in 2022, KWV was formed with a clear focus on exploring opportunities in EV mobility. With its product portfolio nearing completion, KWV is preparing for the commercial rollout of its electric offerings, along with partnerships and go-to-market strategies aimed at reshaping sustainable mobility in India.
Under the agreement, KWV receives non-exclusive rights to use the Kinetic brand name and trademarks for an initial period of three years. This move allows KWV to leverage Kinetic’s strong brand heritage while introducing innovative, future-ready EV solutions.
To support KWV’s journey, KEL—along with other promoters—has committed a total investment of ₹71.83 crore, giving KEL an 80% ownership stake in the venture. This financial backing strengthens the group’s resolve to become a key player in the electric mobility ecosystem.
Beyond branding, KEL continues to support EV growth through its role as a key component supplier, manufacturing gearboxes, axles, and chassis for electric vehicles. The Kinetic Group has also expanded into battery manufacturing under the “Range X” brand, positioning itself across the EV value chain.
Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Kinetic Engineering Ltd., commented:
“Kinetic has always stood for trust, innovation, and progress. With Kinetic Watts and Volts, we are passing on this legacy to a new generation of mobility solutions. This license is not just a name—it’s a commitment to creating electric vehicles that inspire confidence and innovation in every ride.”
At the end of the three-year licensing term, both companies will revisit and renew the agreement, ensuring alignment with evolving market needs and long-term growth plans.
This strategic step marks a new chapter for the Kinetic Group, combining rich heritage with modern electric mobility to shape the future of transportation in India.
