Jindal Mobilitric Unveils New R40 EV with 165 Km Range; Plans Nationwide Expansion

Jindal Mobilitric, the EV arm of Jindal Worldwide Ltd., has officially unveiled its first electric vehicle — the R40, a low-speed electric scooter boasting an impressive range of 165 km on a single charge. With this debut, the company marks a significant step into India’s rapidly growing electric mobility segment.
Designed and developed in-house, the R40 is currently undergoing homologation, and its launch is expected soon after government approvals. The EV will be distributed via Jindal Mobilitric’s existing 35-dealer network, which the company plans to expand to 100 dealerships within the next year.
Backed by Jindal Worldwide’s strong manufacturing foundation, the company has commissioned a state-of-the-art EV manufacturing plant in Ahmedabad with a production capacity of 2.5 lakh vehicles per annum. In a notable move towards vertical integration and battery safety, Jindal has also established a fully automated in-house battery plant with an equivalent capacity, aimed at enhancing trust and long-term reliability in EVs.
“Electric mobility is the future of transportation, and our foray into EV production is a strategic and significant milestone. With in-house R&D and production, we’re confident in delivering a safe and capable EV experience,” said a Jindal Worldwide spokesperson.
With the R40 and robust manufacturing infrastructure, Jindal Mobilitric is positioning itself as a serious player in the electric two-wheeler segment, aiming to deliver high-range, affordable mobility solutions to Indian consumers.
