Hyundai Motor India Installs Chennai’s First 180 kW DC Fast Charging Station
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has opened its first 180 kW DC fast public EV charging station in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, featuring 150 kW and 30 kW connectors. This is part of HMIL’s plan to install 100 fast charging stations across key highways and cities in Tamil Nadu. The station, located at Spencer Plaza Mall, offers convenient amenities for users.

Mr. Jae Wan Ryu, Executive Director – Corporate Planning, HMIL, emphasized their commitment to Tamil Nadu and their goal to enhance the EV ecosystem. The charging facility can be accessed through the myHyundai App, which allows users to locate, navigate, pre-book slots, make digital payments, and monitor charging status. The app is open to all EV users, not just Hyundai owners.
