Envision Energy Unveils India’s First Race Car Built Entirely from E-Waste
Mumbai, May 09, 2025 – Envision Energy, in collaboration with EARTHDAY.ORG, proudly unveiled India’s first-ever race car made entirely from e-waste — the Recover-E Car — at an exclusive event at The Radio Club, Mumbai. Inspired by Envision Racing and Liam Hopkins’ original Recover-E car showcased at the 2023 London e-Prix, this groundbreaking initiative combines innovation, sustainability, and artistic expression under the theme “Our Power, Our Planet.”

This one-of-a-kind car, the first of its kind in India and only the second globally, is a bold symbol of circular design and environmental responsibility. Constructed using discarded electronics such as mobile phones, laptops, and tablets, the Recover-E Car demonstrates how innovation can transform waste into value and spark crucial conversations about India’s growing e-waste challenge.
“This initiative is an extension of Envision’s commitment to creating a sustainable future. By transforming waste into innovation, we want to highlight that technology and sustainability must coexist,” said RPV Prasad, Managing Director, Envision Energy India. “The Recover-E Car is not just a concept — it’s a movement.”
James Mercer, Commercial Director, Envision Racing, added, “The Recover-E car is a symbolic representation of the growing problem of e-waste and how it can be tackled. It’s a reminder that innovation and sustainability go hand in hand — and that we each have a role in creating a circular future.”
As part of Earth Day’s 55th anniversary, Karuna Singh, Regional Director Asia, EARTHDAY.ORG, emphasized the importance of clean energy and circular practices:
“The Recover-E Car perfectly reflects this year’s theme, ‘Our Power, Our Planet™.’ It shows how innovation can turn today’s waste into tomorrow’s solutions.”
The event featured a high-impact panel discussion exploring the intersections of energy, sustainability, and art. Notable speakers included:
-
Arushi Nishank – Kathak dancer, actor, film producer, and environmentalist
-
Bauddhayan Mukherji – National Award and Cannes Lion-winning filmmaker
-

With the Recover-E Car, Envision Energy reinforces its role as a changemaker in India’s green transformation, extending beyond renewable energy into artistic, climate-conscious innovation that inspires action.
